In this interlude, Mike Prokosch reflects of the work of a local peace movement organization and its role in protecting the space of local community voices.
"Throughout, DPP’s role was not to lead, but to support people-of-color leadership by staffi ng the Coalition, doing outreach, getting food for meetings, and writing up the notes. White activists used their privilege— skills, access to resources, time to volunteer—to strengthen the Coalition. Dorchester People for Peace was becoming a movement-building organization. "
We will be rolling out the individual "interludes" over the next few months.
