Inspired by the movement emerging out of Standing Rock,  Janet MacGillivray Wallace explains the broad significance of the resistance in her interlude.

"Standing Rock cascaded a movement to decolonize. Indigenous people used their bodies to speak for what is essential to everyone. Non-indigenous peoples joined indigenous peoples to take back their outsourced environmentalism from a stymied environmental movement that hasn’t yet slowed the momentum of the warming planet. Elders of other movements made a pilgrimage to the camp to honor today’s living civil rights demonstration."

We will be rolling out the individual "interludes"  over the next few months.
